After a long search, Arlee has a new partner - Ian arrived from Virginia on December 11 and they are having lots of fun getting to know each other.
June has been a super-busy month for the Pony Up girls. Blair and Olivia earned their C2 Rating last weekend at Cedar Creek Run in the Regional "Mega Rating". Ambra was the rater for D level candidates. Olivia did a good job with Sherman and exceeded standards on her horse management knowledge and book work. Blair was riding a new horse for the rating which she had only had a few days - she impressed the rater, Amanda Esco, with her riding skill on an unfamiliar mount. Congratulations girls! Thanks to the region for conducting this rating, especially Tom Cook and Debra Sue Waters!
Meanwhile, Maddy, Jordan and mom Amy competed in the Meadow Creek Summer Games last weekend in Kosse. Jordan placed first in dressage for her musical freestyle and first in the Derby at Training, while Amy took second in Beginner Novice. Maddy placed first in the Derby's Starter Division. "Good Sport" awards go to Ella and mom Amber who schooled also, enduring the 100 degree + days with a smile in their first experience with Texas summers - good job!

Last weekend, members Ambra, Arlee, Olivia and Sydney (and PUPC mom, Carol) travelled to Benton, Louisiana and competed at the USEA recognized Holly Hill Spring Horse Trials. It was beautiful weather and even the Saturday night downpour did not dampen spirits or slow down the competition. Ambra finished 4th in Jr. Novice in her first event with her young homebred, Alfie. Arlee, Olivia and Sydney completed the Jr. Beginner Novice horse trials in 4th, 8th & 7th places, respectively. Carol took home a 4th place ribbon in Senior Novice. Way to go ladies! Last weekend, Ambra & Romey participated in the Red River Region's Upper Levels Rating Clinic. The weekend clinic included both mounted and unmounted sessions and was held at Willow Draw in Weatherford, conducted by national examiner Debra Sue Waters. In the mounted sessions, the students demonstrated and honed riding skills, including gridwork without stirrups, on a variety of horses (switching with other students). The unmounted sessions included instruction in longing, shipping and standing wraps, tack identification, conditioning, feeding and nutrition, and creating and implementing lesson plans. Ambra had a great time working with Pony Clubbers from across the region. Great work Ambra and good luck on your HB rating this summer!
